Frances Hotel-Motel

Welcome to Frances, South Australia

You rarely find hidden treasures by treading the beaten track and you won’t find the friendly little village of Frances that way either.

Frances is just under 40 kilometres south of Bordertown, South Australia, on the Bordertown-Hynam Road and about 360 kilometres from Adelaide.

And it is definitely worth the detour from the main roads between the South Australian capital and Melbourne.

Almost directly on the Victorian border, Frances is a stone’s thrown from the Padthaway and Coonawarra wine regions and, for the active outdoor-type, it is within easy striking distance of the Little Desert National Park and the rock-climbing hotspot, Mount Arapiles.

Hundreds descend on the town once every year for the Frances Folk Gathering, attracted by the friendly hospitality of the 300-strong farming community.

Many of those visitors, and scores more, find themselves right at home at with Terry and Desi at the  Frances Hotel-Motel.

The hotel is at the heart of the small farming community, and can cater for the backpacker on a budget through to those who want to splash out on something special with one of the hotel’s executive spa suites.

The Frances Hotel Motel is at 4 Railway Terrace, Frances, South Australia. For bookings telephone (08) 8765 1093, email [email protected] or visit them online at
