Why not take a cruise ship around South Australia and visit some of the state’s best coastal towns and experiences, including the world famous wine regions, while cruising in luxury and style.
South Australia has two major berths, one at Port Adelaide’s Outer Harbor and the other at Port Lincoln. There are also two anchorages from which to explore everything the state has to offer, one at Penneshaw on the famous Kangaroo Island and the other at Robe.
Visit the Barossa, McLaren Vale, Clare Valley and the Adelaide Hills. Full or half day shore excursions are the perfect opportunity to explore. The ships usually offer detailed location guides and of course there’s always the Meet and Greet volunteers who take great pride in showing off the local things to see and do and can provide info on public transport, events and what’s on.
From adrenaline pumping cage-diving with sharks, to laid back exploration of coastal scenery, meeting local wildlife up close and personal or enjoying the bounties of the food and wine capital of Australia there is much to see and do in South Australia.
You can also take advantage of your shore time in Adelaide on a shopping spree. The vibrant and bustling Adelaide Central Market is a popular attraction or you could simply indulge in some retail therapy at Rundle Mall.
The destinations are great but the cruise itself is another reason to consider such an experience. The Mega-Liners are outfitted with decks and halls, restaurants, pools, tennis courts and more, truly floating palaces. Your own private cabin may have a portal out to where you can watch the coastline list lazily past. Packages are usually all inclusive and after a long day’s exploring on foot or bike you’ll welcome the comfort of your vessel.
